I don't have time to be here typing merrily away.
... I have not wrapped one gift. (Despite the fact that I promised myself I would be ready this year. READY, I say!)
... I still haven't even bought a number of gifts. (Which is an all-time low as I am very good about having everything bought way in advance. Which is why it's so ridiculous that I am frantically wrapping presents on Christmas Eve. Which really drives me nuts because it seems so pointless to wrap a present that will be unwrapped in approximately six hours. And just who came up with this gift wrapping idea anyway? I'd like to kick her Martha Stewart backside....)
... I have to finish making my mom's scrapbook album. Yes, she called me about ten days ago to tell me - quite delighted with herself - that she knew what she wanted me to get her for Christmas! She went on a religious retreat that Changed Her Life back in October and now she wants to document it. (Apparently we have seven thousand pictures and all are too precious to leave behind. I am drawing the line at making that many pages, but the album I bought for her has twenty blank pages just blinding me with their whiteness.) So I'm about half-way there - with the base pages, that is. No titles, per se. Oh, jeez. the tiles. I totally forgot about them until right this minute.
... I have to make four scrapbook albums highlighting The Kid - one for Grandma and Grandpa, one for Grandma (who is really Grandpa but Gigi got confused when she met him so he's been Grandma ever since), one for Nanna and Pa-pa, and one for Daddy. (Notice how Mommy never gets an album. What is wrong with this picture?!)
... I have to pick up my 48 5x7 photos for the above scrapbooks.
... I have to clean this filthy sty we live in.
... I have to pack for our road trip to Florida. And go to the grocery store for the necessary supplies. And buy a decent nightgown so I don't shame our good name with my tatty pajamas. And pick up a book on CD for the trip.
... I have to figure out why my oven is not working.
... I have to work out the harmony for our Christmas Eve service. Praise Band finally got together last night and now I have to find harmony for no less than ten songs. The good news is that they're Christmas Carols, so some of it will be a snap. The bad news is (1) I woke up with a sore throat, and (2) What Child is This? is giving me fits because that thing is written in some kind of funky minor key or SOMETHING, thereby making harmonizing a demoralizing experience. I WILL TRIUMPH OVER YOU, GREENSLEEVES MELODY!!!
... I had a freak fall yesterday and think I dislocated my right leg. Now this is obviously an exaggeration as I probably wouldn't be able to walk with a dislocated hip. Right?
All I know is I can't raise my foot off the floor if it involves pulling from the hip. And any sort of movement makes me want to scream.
And here we are on the eve of being insurance-less.
NOT gonna go there. Nope. Nope. Nope!
... and there's so much more and it's 11:05 a.m. on the day before Christmas Eve and I gotta go!
On the off chance that anyone is actually reading this (and I hate you if you have the time to read this), have a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Fabulous Kwanzaa, and a Happy New Year! (If I misspelled any of those, forgive me, but I got no time to look 'em up!) I'll be back after the new year!!!
