So I decided to take all the terrific advice I got from those of you who commented on my original Memory Box Christmas in the City card, and I like the new version quite a bit!
I ended up not only taking your advice, readers, I also switched out my sentiment and added a whole new stamp in the background. And then I decided to remake the stamped panel, too.
So here's the original....
And here's the remake:
So what do you think?
I added the new Snow Fall stamp in the background (stamped with Memento's London Fog to make it fade into the background) and switched to the Snowplace Like Home sentiment stamp.
The lantern's light was created by masking off the area and then VERY lightly applying Ranger Distress Scattered Straw with a foam ink applicator tool. I pulled up the masks and then applied more of the Scattered Straw in circlular motions to soften the boundary lines for the light.
The last thing I did was "draw" a wreath on the lamp post. This was actually really easy. All I did was randomly pounce the brush end of a green Memento marker in a circle. The berries are Red stickles.
Oddly enough, I could have sworn somebody told me to add a wreath to the lamp post and another person said to add a bow, so I decided to do both - only now I don't see any comment telling me to hang a wreath!!!
(I've heard of hearing voices, but seeing them? Clearly, my mind has left the building with Elvis and probably isn't any more likely to return than he is.)
Anywaaaaay, thank you all for your terrific advice! Keep it comin'!
