Every spring around this time I head out to Cincinnati to attend a retreat with fellow crafters, and it's always a wonderful time. My roommate is always Kelly Booth, and there are a few perks when you room with someone as talented as Kelly! One of these perks concerns Kelly's major talent, her generous nature, and her tendency to have the coolest products around!
This time was no exception as Kelly is still on Karen Burniston's design team. Karen has left Sizzix and now designs her wonderful pop-up and interactive dies for Elizabeth Craft Designs, so Kelly is now also a DT member there as well.
What this means for me is that I got to play with cool new toys AND product AND I learned a new technique that is rather impressive (involving glitter and Copic markers). But don't take my word for it, see for yourself....
Here's the front...
And here's the "inside" of the card.
S U P P L I E S
Bazzill Cardstock; Markers: Copics; Dies: Accordian Circle Card, Circle Flourish Frame Edges (Elizabeth Craft Designs), Mom (Simon Says Stamp, I think); Peel-Off Stickers, Double-Sided Adhesive (paper), and Silk Micro Fine Glitter (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
The coolest thing about the technique Kelly taught me is that you adhere the sticker image (sticky side down) to double-sided adhesive paper. Then you pour Silk Micro Fine Glitter over the image - the glitter will stick to the stickers' negative spaces - burnish it, and then... (are you ready for this?)... you color over the glitter with your Copics!
How cool is that?! It doesn't hurt your Copics one bit, and the glitter doesn't flake off AT ALL. The entire card is actually extremely easy and quick to assemble, so I recommend the process highly!
My mom loves anything that sparkles and glitters, so I knew right away that this was going to be her Mother's Day card this year.
Thanks for stopping and have a blessed day!
