Flowers From The Craft's Meow Blog Hop

I N S T R U C T I O N S

1. Create vertical card base and round bottom corners.
2. Stamp main image and sentiment on panel of patterned paper and adhere to card. 
3. Stamp birds using Tide Pool ink. 
4. Cut strips of patterned paper and adhere to card.
5. Color leaves, fence, and birdhouse with colored pencils; shade birds and dot eyes.
6. Stamp flowers on patterned paper, fussy cut, and adhere to card.
7. Apply gold Perfect Pearls to flower centers, then add black pearls or gems. 

T I P

When you want to fussy cut something that is very "busy" it's a good idea to stamp the image on a scrap piece of paper and color the parts you will be cutting out. This way you have a map and won't accidentally cut off something you think is a leaf when it's really a petal. (Yes, I did this three times! I restamped the image on the patterned paper, cut out the misidentified flowers, and adhered them to my card base before adhering the main piece. Next time I will make a map first!)

Cardstock: Memory Box, Bazzill; Patterned Paper: Vintage Bliss (Simple Stories); Specialty: plastic from product packaging; Stamps: Life Is A Carnival (The Craft's Meow); Dies: School of Fish, Candy Jar (Memory Box); Ink: VersaFine Black (Tsukineko), Pumice Stone, Espresso (Ranger); Other Mediums: PrismaColor pencils, silver gel pen, marker (Copic); Accents: Enamel dot (Teresa Collins), black gem (Recollections), spinner and brad (Ranger); Other: foam adhesive squares; Tools: Corner Chomper (We R Memory Keepers), foam ink applicator tool, hole punch, distress tool

T I P S

Use a hand punch to remove corners from tickets.

Use a grey Copic marker to add some depth to plastic that's representing glass on your card (it helps it stand out). 

T R I V I A

Can anybody guess what's that white thing in the fish bowl? (Hee-hee-hee....)

Memory Box Card: Just Thinking of You Today

Hello, stampers!

Memory Box just released its latest collection, and guess what! You can now get Memory Box stamps in a cling version!!! How cool is that?! 

Today I've made a card featuring two of the new stamps! I also tried some new things on this card and was really pleased with my results:

1. I used Inktense watercolor pencils for the first time; and
2. I decided to dry emboss and ink the embossing after I had stamped and colored my image and sentiment.
