Memory Box Card: Cheers!

Hello, Stampers!

Last Saturday was my day to post on the Memory Box Design Team blog, Outside the Box, but I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to post it here until now.    

I just love the Owen the Octopus die from the latest release since I'm a little gaga for just about anything related ot the sea. After some consideration, I figured the best thing he could do with all those arms was to hold a bunch of drinks!

I N S T R U C T I O N S

1. Make card base.
2. Cut a sea floor panel from kraft and adhere; add a strip of striped pattern paper at the bottom.
3. Die cut octopus, flowers, alphabet letters and glasses.
4. Layer white and red alphabet letters and adhere.
5. Cut the stems off the flowers, ink their lower portions, and adhere to card.
6. Draw smile on optopus and adhere googlie eyes; then adhere to card with foam adhesive.
7. Color inside of glasses and adhere.  

T I P

Don't be afraid to interpret your dies differently. I don't have any dies of underwater plants, but I looked through my stash to see if there were any that looked like they might belong underwater - and I found lots of stuff! I stuck with only the one die, though, since my card was already getting busy with all the octupus arms and glasses.

Memory Box Card: A Whale of a Birthday Card

Hello, Stampers!

It's my turn to post on the Memory Box Design Team blog, Outside the Box!

I'm quite fond of the card I made for today because it's whimsical and makes me grin.

I N S T R U C T I O N S

1. Make card base.
2. Cut white panel and adhere strips of cardstock at bottom.
3. Stamp sentiment.
4. Die cut whale and fish, and adhere to panel.
5. Draw smile on whale, dot eyes onto fish, and adhere googlie eyes.
6. Adher panel to front of card with dimensional squares. 

T I P

Okay, okay... er... Whoopsa Daisy to Place in the Seventh at Belmont.

Memory Box Card: April Showers Bring May Flowers

Hello, Stampers!

Saturday was my day to post on the Memory Box Design Team blog, Outside the Box, so I did a CASE of a Kim Kesti card featured in PaperCrafts' Card Design Handbook.

 

I N S T R U C T I O N S

1. Make card base and adhere white panel.
2. Die cut Frangia Bouquet from brown panel and adhere to patterned paper panel.
3. Cut white panel, stamp sentiment, cut traingle from end, and adhere to brown panel.
4. Adhere strip of patterned paper to sentiment panel, then adhere enamel dots to flower centers.
5. Tie ribbon into bow and adhere.
6. Adhere buckle to bow center.
7. Adhere brown panel to white panel with dimensional foam.

T I P

Snip one end of the buckle's center bar and slide the bar under the center of the bow; a drop of fabric glue will secure the buckle to the bow.

If you get the Memory Box Simple Buckles die set, you can make your own buckle by adding pearls to the die!

Hello, stampers!

Memory Box just released its latest collection, and guess what! You can now get Memory Box stamps in a cling version!!! How cool is that?! 

Today I've made a card featuring two of the new stamps! I also tried some new things on this card and was really pleased with my results:

1. I used Inktense watercolor pencils for the first time; and
2. I decided to dry emboss and ink the embossing after I had stamped and colored my image and sentiment.

Hello, Stampers!

It's my day to post on the Memory Box Design Team blog, Outside the Box.

If there's one thing I love about Memory Box, it's the consistency of the line. I was able to mix and match some previous release items with some of the more recent ones, and I'm really happy with the result! 

I N S T R U C T I O N S

1. Make card base (4.25" x 5.5") from Lagoon.
2. Cut Eggshell panel and adhere to card.
3. Cut patterned paper strip from Thistle, stamp with Intricate Heart, and adhere.
4. Stamp Intricate Heart on patterned paper and cut using Grand Heart die.
5. Die cut Heart Pocket from Lagoon.
6. Adhere Heart Pocket to card.
7. Adhere stamped Grand Heart to interior of Heart Pocket.
8. Die cut flowers and stems.
9. Chalk center of flowers and adhere nailheads.
10. Insert and adhere flowers to Heart Pocket and close heart envelope.

T I P

Why should a lovely heart-shaped pattern stamp be used just to stamp hearts? You can really stretch your stamps by thinking outside the box. I used the Intricate Heart stamp to make a matching pattern on the panel that runs behind the heart.

A Memory Box Card: Enjoy All the Miracles

It's my day to post on the Memory Box Design Team blog, Outside the Box. And I've been wanting to play with the cat dies that have been released through Poppy Stamps - this particular die comes in more than one size, so... like... BONUS!

T I P

I recently learned in a class taught by Julie Ebersole that there are great tweezers out there! I'm a little clumsy with them now, but I know it's just a matter of getting used to them. Even as a klutz, these things are proving to be a great tool!

Memory Box Card: U & I

Here's my latest card for Outside the Box, the Memory Box Design Team's blog.

This one can be used for an anniversary, etc. as well as Valentine's Day. It's also very fast and easy to make (bonus)!

I N S T R U C T I O N S

1. Make 4.25” x 4.25” card from Cotton Candy cardstock.
2. Die cut Loom Circle from Raspberry and adhere to card.
3. Die cut Precious Heart Box’s hearts from Eggshell, emboss each in a different folder, and adhere. 
4. Die cut letters from Licorice and adhere.
5. Adhere Nailheads.

T I P 

Use spray adhesive when adhering delicate and intricate die cuts.
