For those of you who wanted me to do a Copics tutorial, here it is - the first part in a series. I filmed my coloring all of her, but it would be too long for one video, so this one shows how I colored the face of Vivi, a stamp I purchased from The Greeting Farm. (The rest of her will come later.)
A small caveat here. I am not Copic-certified, although I will be by the end of March (yaaaaay)!
So follow me at your own risk.
;~D
I'm a little unorthodox as I tend to use four/five colors instead of the traditional three. For this tutorial I used Copics:- E0000
- E000
- E00
- E21
- Signo white pen
- A surprise ingredient - my "secret weapon"!
Please let me know what you think I should do to improve in the future.
Enjoy!
Thanks for the Vid Deborah! this is great!

Wow, this looks super helpful! I've never used Copics before (I'd love to try some) and consider myself a coloring dunce. :-P I'm glad you chose to split the videos; it's great to see all the steps you take! Thanks so much!

Well, you're taking the mystery out of the Copics for me...I'm saving my nickels and dimes to get a set! I'll be back for the next installments of Coloring Vivi.

love seeing you color, Deborah! thanks for the tips on using chalk for cheeks! I have never thought of that! One think is that I think the background music is a bit loud for me. I do like it though. =) Are you using PTI's stamper's select for coloring? And I don't know if this question makes sense or if it's weird. What are the pros and cons (if any) of being Copic Certified? I know a lot of people that are certified, but never know the advantages of it other than that you are allowed to teach. Thanks!! =)

Deborah, that was brilliant! I have Promarkers, which are quite different to use but I still think that your tips on layering and imagining the face as a 'round' will be really useful. Thanks for the info about chalk - I was wondering how to add some really subtle colour so that is a fabulous tip! Jo x

Thanks a ton Deborah for the tutorial...its a great one. You are so good at it. I was planning to buy some in April (I am visiting US), but got confused as to which ones to buy and from where. There are copic sketch and ciao....there are sets marked A, B , C , D. Would you please suggest which ones???
Thanks in advance.

I just got my first few Copics recently and struggling to use them properly, so this is great! I love seeing the steps you take to achieve that really layered look. And that chalk tip is a goodie too! While I love Dave Brubeck and hearing the music in the background with your voice, I have to agree with Alice and say that for me, the music is a bit loud. Other than that, fantastic job--can't wait for the next one! :)

Thanks so much for the great video Deborah!I got some Promarkers a little while ago but am struggling with them especially colouring faces and hair. I love the effect of the chalk - do you have to set it with anything or does it stay on? Thanks for all your help.
