July 2010 Card Chain Challenge

It's the last Friday in June, so that means it's time for the July Card Chain Challenge (CCC)! 

In June we had  participants from Croatia, Denmark, England, Germany, Indonesia, Ireland, Mauritius, New Zealand, Norway, and the United States. We had fewer participants this time, but with the summer winds calling, I'm hardly surprised!

I myself almost didn't get my card in the mail because I've been out of commission for the last month because of my stupid back. Thank you to everyone who's been supportive, sent cards and continued to drop by here - it's much appreciated, I assure you. (I can't even begin to tell you how depressed I've been. If it weren't for y'all, I would've thrown myself under a bus a long time ago.)

But I'm rallying, dang it!

For anyone new to the CCC, the basic idea is that you receive a fellow cardmaker's snail mail address, make her a card, and send it off. The next person on the list does the same thing with you, and so on. Each person makes a card for the person immediately above her in the chain, and the first person in the chain makes a card for the last person in the chain.

Everybody gets a hand-crafted card so everybody wins!

You also post the card you receive in the online gallery of your choice, and I will post these blog/gallery addresses on my blog along with a picture of the card. Everybody gets increased visibility and/or blog traffic, so everybody wins!

The whole process is fairly straightforward, so the chances of my screwing up are minimal. Everybody - except me - avoids administrative duties, so everybody wins!

3 Challenge Options

You can use as many of the following options as you like, but you're only required to use one of them.

Color Palette:

Periwinkle, Grape, Sky Blue, Pool, Pistachio

Note: the colors and names are a guide - 

so don't stress out if you can't get a perfect match.

Mr. Linky sign-up ends at 11:59 p.m., EST, Thursday, July 1, 2010. If this is your first CCC, please send your email and snail mail and a link to one of your online photo galleries to:

Mail your card: postmarked no later than Tuesday, July 8, 2010, in your area of the world, to the Receiver if she lives in a different country. If Receiver lives in your country, you have until Tuesday, July 15, 2010. Make sure to send Receiver an email telling her to be on the lookout! 

Upload and send me a link to the card you made: email me a picture of the card you made no later than midnight, Tuesday, July 15, 2010. (I prefer you email the picture as soon as you've uploaded it to your computer - makes it easier for me to keep track of everything.)

I am interested in signing up, but I have a few questions.. first, do I send to the person ABOVE or BELOW my name? Do I post my card as soon as it's done on my blog / Flickr? Do I wait until the recipient has it? I have never done foreign mailing, so I am a tad lost on countries initials... for instance, Canada and California have the same two letters CA for their "initials"......

And I'm assuming you need me to email you... do I email you at the yahoo address?
