Welcome to Day One of the Hero Arts Hostess Hop, featuring five days of fabulous stamps from the new 2013 catalogue (and prize drawings, too - woo-who)!
LAST HOP STOP: Kathy Racoosin's The Daily Marker
It's a tough job to follow the amazing Kathy R, but somebody's gotta do it, so here I go:
S U P P L I E S:
Cardstock: Bazzill, Memory Box; Specialty paper: Watercolor paper (Swathmore); Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye; Stamps: Hexagon Background, Little Tags (Hero Arts); Dies: Long & Cute Tags (Hero Arts); Inks: Frayed Burlap, Peacock Feathers, Pealed Paint, Espresso, Embossing (Ranger); Other Mediums: Seafoam White superfine detail EP, Gold Perfect Pearls (Ranger); Accents: flowers (Reminisce), gems (K & Co); Fibers: twine (Hempotique), silk ribbon; Tools: foam ink applicator tools, craft sheet, heat tool, Embossing Buddy, Mini-mister, Vagabond
T I P:
Whenever I use a stamp that has a matching die, I stamp the image first and then use Scotch Removable Tape to secure the die while cutting. This is THE BEST tape for this task because it is so low tack, you can pull it off of anything (even patterned paper) without it defacing the surface. You can also use the same piece over and over again. (I use it with my Silhouette cuts, too.) You can puchase this tape at office supply stores and at a lot of different grocers and drugstores. It's good stuff!
I N S T R U C T I O N S:
- Make card base from brown cardstock.
- Cut and stamp watercolor panel with Hexagon Background using embossing ink.
- Apply powder and heat emboss.
- Randomly apply Distress inks with foam applicator tool.
- Spritz watercolor panel with Perfect Pearls-water mixture and set aside to dry.
- Stamp and die cut Little Tag.
- Cut turquoise panel.
- Once dry, cut and adhere watercolor panel to turquoise panel.
- Wrap ribbon around watercolor and turquoise panels and tie bow before adhering panels to card.
- Thread twine through tag, tie bow, and adhere to card.
- Adhere flowers and gems.
P R I Z E S:
In addition to seeing some great inspirational ideas, you have a chance to win some of this fabulous new product yourself! Hero Arts will be awarding prizes from randomly drawn blog comments, so leave a comment at every hop stop each day (including each day’s starting post at the Hero Club Blog).
Remember, the more comments you leave, the better your chance of winning!
G I V E A W A Y:
As long as we're giving stuff away, how about a little SOS Stamping Surprise from yours truly? I'll do a random drawing from the comments left here and send the winner a prize package of stamping goodies!
NEXT HOP STOP: Kryssi Ng's Sugar Buffet
