I am not necessarily attracted to cute stamps. But when I saw today's stamp on a card, I had to have it. I didn't even know what kind of an animal it was. (Turns out it's a hampster - how perfect is that?)
When I drew Joy as the recipient for my card in this month's CCC, I thought it was perfect timing and the perfect opportunity to ink him up because Joy appreciates the absurd. She's quiet and comes across as rather shy at first, but don't be fooled by that mild demeanor....
Inside, her heart is beating to a Monty Python drum kit.
Joy has a deliciously wicked sense of humor and comes up with some real BAH-ZINGAS! She is the perfect person to give something as wonderfully absurd and silly as a hamster cupid!
Hampster cupid... who thinks of that?
Brilliant.
I had a wonderful time coloring this little guy with my pencils and loved the way he turned out! (Is that stamp stinkin' adorable or what?!)

Thanks for the sweet card, Deborah. So nice to see you over the weekend. I don't think I get the Monty Python joke above. And I'm going to steal your photo, FYI. xo
