Hey, there, you lovely people!
Memory Box is hosting another blog blitz over at the Design Team blog, Outside the Box! This time we're focusing on stencils - which is great because I really like ours.
AND GUESS WHAT?!
The blitz began yesterday and runs until Friday, May 16. Leave a comment each day on the Outside the Box blog to enter yourself for a chance to win the stencil that day's designer used in her project. (If she used more than one stencil, you can choose which one you want for your prize.) You have until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 18th, to leave your comments. Laura will select winners and post them on Outside the Box on Monday, May 19.
Today's card features the Raymelle stencil. Instead of using ink or sprays to capture the pattern, I decided to spread on some Viva Decor Silver Modeling Creme with a painter's trowel. What do you think? This modeling creme is very bright and shiny even if you can't tell from the photo.

Memory Box products: dies (Isabella Butterfly Distressed Tag - just now discovered this has been discontinued - waaaah!), stencil (Raymelle), stamp (A Very Happy Hello Combo); Paper: Soiree Shimmer Paper (formerly made by Memory Box), 6x6 patterned paper (Fancy Pants); Inks: Ranger Distress Peacock Feathers, Pine Needles, Embossing (Ranger); Other media: Viva Decor Silver Modeling Creme, Platinum EP (Ranger); Accents: buttons (PTI), ribbon (Martha Stewart), embroidery floss (DMC); Tools: 1" circle punch, handheld hole punch, round ink applicator tools, artist trowel; Other: Glossy Accents (for some behind the scenes bonding)

Although I LOVE the modeling creme, make sure you have a pan of water next to your work surface so you can submerge your stencil immediately after using it. And don't lollygag while spreading the creme, either! This stuff dries super fast, and you don't want your stencils encrusted with it - unless you enjoy a lengthy clean-up.Deborah
Beautiful!

I think this is gorgeous. You inspire me to get out the stencils and the tags.....

I left a comment over at OTB, but thought I'd give my .25 here too. I love the Tag which would be lovely on it's own but then you made it part of such a gorgeous card! TFS

I guess what you call modeling cream we call embossing paste?
- it's wonderful stuff! I love how you got it so smooth!

Maureen,
This is actually a bit different from embossing paste - this is why it's so smooth. It's from Viva Decor and it's called modeling creme because it's so creamy and smooth. Yummy stuff!
