Welcome back to the Card Chain Challenge!

If this is your first time here, I hope you'll sign up and join in the fuN! All you have to do is make and send a card to the person above you on the list. If your recipient receives your card by the last day of October, you'll be entered to win the prize donated by this month's sponsor.(If you're unfamiliar with this card exchange challenge, I've got a brief explanation near the bottom of this post or you can check out the Rules and FAQ's.)

This Month's Special Prize

If your recipient receives your card by August 1, your name will be entered in a drawing for one of the new Hampton Art sentiment clear sets. Since I'm on its Design Team, I've got some duplicates, and I can't wait to share them with you! I have five sets, and the winner can choose the one she likes best.

Challenge Directions

Make a card using at least one of the following four options. (You can actually use two, three, or all four options, but you are only required to use one of them.)

All of the cards with links to their creators' blogs or online photo galleries will be revealed here on Monday, December 1, 2014.

Hampton Art Card: Spooky

Hey, there, Stampers!

Today's card features patterned paper and a coordinating sentiment stamp from Graphic 45's Steampunk Spells collection.

S  U  P  P  L  I  E  S

Cardstock; Stamping Spells patterned paper and coordinating clear stamp set (Graphic 45); Media: metallic ink; gems: Mark Richards; Other: Tape Works glitter tape, foam dimensional tape; Tools: Beloved Stars die (Memory Box), Stars & Hearts die (Simon Says Stamp), Blueprints 15 (Die-Namics by My Favorite Things), Vagabond, paper cutter, scoreboard, bone folder, corner rounder  

I  N  S  T  R  U  C  T  I  O  N  S

1. Make card base for a 4.25” x 5.5” card and round bottom corners.
2. Die cut and adhere patterned paper.
3. Die cut circle and stamp sentiment; set aside to dry or heat-set.
4. Apply three rows of gold glitter tape to cardstock scrap and die cut Stars & Hearts three times.
5. Adhere gold stars as desired on card; follow by adhering gems in star centers.
6. Apply five rows of black glitter tape to cardstock scrap and die cut Blessed Stars.
7. Snip bow off of Blessed Stars die-cut and set aside.
8. Place top of Blessed Stars tendrils die-cut to card in area of stamped circle and adhere by wrapping gold glitter tape around card front.
9. Apply a 5" length of black glitter tape to scrap cardstock, cut a 1/4" strip length-wise, and adhere strip to center of gold tape; trim ends flush with card.
10. Adhere die-cut circle with foam dimensional tape to cover tops of tendrils.
11. Adhere Blessed Stars bow to stamped circle.

T  I  P

If you don't have any glittery cardstock for die cutting, make some by applying rows of glittery washi tape to scrap cardstock. Make sure your rows abutt one another precisely - no overlap or spaces between. Die cut as usual and voila! You have fancy-pants glittery goodness that nobody will ever suspect is a tape-covered scrap of cardstock.

Hampton Art Card: Happy Halloween

Halloween is upon us, and I, for one, am already tricked out. The last two weeks have been insane for me, so I've not had a lot of time to post, but I'm hoping to inundate y'all this week!

Today's card features 6" x 6" Witches Brew patterned paper and enamel stars from Jillibean Soup and Hampton Art stamps you can purchase at Michaels. I made this card for my BFF from high school and I had better get it into the mail or it will be past its expiration date by the time it arrives!

Cardstock: Ninah Solar White (card base); Patterned Paper: Witches Brew (Jillibean Soup); Ink: black; Colored Pencils (Spectrum Noir); Embellishments: gems (Mark Richards), enamel stars (Jillibean Soup); Tools: paper cutter, scoreboard, bone folder, corner rounder 

I  N  S  T  R  U  C  T  I  O  N  S

1. Make card base for a 4.25” x 5.5” card.
2. Cut and adhere 4.25” x 5.5” panel of patterned paper.
3. Stamp images on white card panel, color, and adhere.
4. Adhere gems and enamel dots.

T I  P S

1. When you color a cat, don't just go for one color! It's very easy to throw some stripes in there, and it's so much cuter!
2. Remember to draw on some whiskers. (I forgot!!!)

Memory Box Holiday Tags Class

Hi, everyone!

Memory Box Blog Blitz!

The Memory Box Blog Blitz at Outside the Box for Part Two of the 2014 Holiday release started yesterday, and there are goodies to be had!

The blitz extends through Friday with two posts per day. You have until 11:00 p.m. EST on Sunday, October 26th, to leave comments, from which winners will be randomly drawn and announced on Monday, October 27th.

I made two cards because I'm so enjoying the Woodland Tree Silhouette die.

Lilac Merry Christmas: Cardstock: 110 lb (Neenah), shimmer, "mirror"; Dies: Woodland Tree Silhouette, Merry Christmas to All, Alphabet Soup, Precious Ornaments, Ho Ho Holly Leaves (Memory Box); Pearls (Reflections); Sequins (Cartwright)

I N S T R U C T I O N S

1. Make 4.25" x 5.5" card base with horizontal fold.
2. For silver card: adhere card to craft mat with low-tack tape; repeat with Winter Tiny Snowflakes stencil; pounce with ink and heat set. For lilac card: adhere patterned paper to card front.
3. Die cut Woodland Tree Silhouette and adhere.
4. Die cut letters from Alphabet Soup and snip "Christmas" from Merry Christmas to All; adhere to bottom of card.
5. For silver card: die cut birds and adhere with dimensional tape. For lilac card: die cut and adhere ornament and holly leaves.
6. For silver card: adhere gems. For lilac card: adhere sequins and pearls.

T I P S

• If you don't have silver shimmer cardstock, apply Delicata Shimmery Silver ink directly to the paper and heat set - it's identical to shimmer paper.

• Use the tips of your detail scissors to cut out words to stretch your dies' versatility! ("Christmas" was snipped from the rest of the die cut below.)

Memory Box Christmas Tags

Welcome back, Gentle Readers!

It's my day to post on the Memory Box Design Team blog, Outside the Box, and I decided to make some Christmas tags before all the holiday madness started.

Today's two tags feature easy and simple designs that can be mass-produced lickety-split.
