I have some news to share!
I've been offered a staff position at Scrapbook News & Review - the world's largest online magazine for scrapbooking, card-making, and mixed-media/altered art - and I've decided to accept!
I have the choice of doing tutorials or providing art or both each month, and I think I'm going to try my hand at tutorials. I may have an opportunity to teach some online classses, as well - which I would love to do since we have no more LSS's and the chain stores won't let you teach if you're not one of their employees.
SNR has been in existence since 2008 and has a large and loyal following. They've recently stepped-up their game and are adding some new features - one of which is pretty exciting but which I don't think I'm allowed to talk about yet. So you'll just have to wait and see!
SNR has also recently increased the number of its contributing artists, so I'm looking forward to soaking up all that creative pulchritude (and hoping some of it will rub offI)
One thing I especially like about this online magazine is its green factor. As y'all know, I'm a recycle freak, an Earth Lover, a Radical Repurposer! So I like the idea of a monthly magazine that will never take the life of a tree or end up in a landfill. (And, of course, you can't beat the cost - show me a decent magazine you can buy for $3.99 a month and I'll drink a Distress Re-Inker - but only if it's Worn Lipstick - don't want to scare the family more than I already have....)
Check back here tomorrow for another BIG piece of news! (It never rains but it pours, it would seem - and I'm not talkin' Hurricane Hattie here - I'm talkin' Gene-Kelly-happy-dancin' kind of rain!)
Sorry - I couldn't resist. Is this not the very definition of a cheesy grin?
Thanks for stopping and have a blessed day!
Deborah
